The launch of “AVIATION CAREERS ACADEMY” signifies a bold step in empowerment of women in the face of global recession and the unrelenting gloomy predictions being broadcast by industry experts.

Here is an institution, SEVA MANDAL EDUCATION SOCIETY (SMES), a Trust that has dedicated itself to empowerment of women through education for the past 52 years at what is popularly known as the SNDT Campus, Matunga; who in spite of all odds, feels that downturns in life are a temporary phase and a necessary part of growing stronger.  SMES has all along felt the need of providing women especially from the so called “lower strata of society, an opportunity to make careers in the Customer Service, Hospitality and Travel & Tourism arenas.  These sectors have always shown phenomenal growth and better quality employment opportunities for women”, they believe.

SMES has finally launched its “Aviation Careers Academy” for women in collaboration with Livewire Training & Management Services Pvt. Ltd. (LTMS).  LTMS, on its part, is a Company of Aviation professionals engaged in the business of providing quality training with the latest technology.

Together SMES and LTMS have created a state of the art facility with an infrastructure that boasts of the latest Airbus 320 Aircraft mock-up fitted with the most modern gadgets such as high sensitivity cameras, projectors and other paraphernalia that make training to perfection nearly possible.  They also have a very well equipped gymnasium, beauty parlour a computerised training centre, a well stocked library with internet facilities for each student and contemporary classroom, role play rooms as well as a spacious outlay.  Apart from creating an environment conducive to learning, it also encourages its students to feel more confident and comfortable with them.
