At present time Air India has 140 planes, with the addition of the new aircraft, would have a fleet of more than 170 planes.
2017 is going to be a year of consolidation and expansion. They are going to fly to many new international destinations and also connect new domestic destinations as part of the regional connectivity thrust of the government.
For the first time in nearly a decade, Air India eked out an operational profit of Rs 105 crore, mainly helped by lower fuel costs and increased passenger numbers.

- As Air India going to add 35 new aircraft it will required Pilots, Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME), Air Hostess, Crew Members and lots of other staffs.
- Aircraft needs regular maintenance services, MRO Services so it will required lots of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME), Aeronautical Engineer, technicians etc.
- For successful flying it requires Crew members, Air Hostess for series the passengers.
- According CAPA’s report 1 new aircraft generates 100 direct jobs & 500 indirect jobs in aviation sector so according that Air India is going to open 3500 jobs in Air India.
